Frank Lloyd Wright (American, 1867-1959)
Lake Tahoe Summer Colony, Emerald Bay, California, 1923
For a 200-acre lot on Lake Tahoe, Frank Lloyd Wright designed several astounding buildings: a floating inn, houseboat-style barges, and a cottage that arches directly over a deep crevasse. The inn would have been anchored near an isolated island, while the barges would be mobile enough to float to a different location each season.
